Call for Papers

The degree in Documentation and Information Sciences and Technologies (CTDI), with the support of the Centre for Organisational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto (CEOS.PP), of the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP), is promoting its 17th meeting on December 14, 2023, with the theme “Information Evaluation in Information Science“.

Within the scope of Information Science, studies evaluating information flows are crucial and although they are applicable to any context of production and management of said information, the focus of this edition of the CTDI Meeting will be on the classification, evaluation, selection, elimination and conservation of documents produced, in analogue or digital form, by local government institutions, is regulated by specific regulations issued by the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB) and corresponds to essential procedures for Information Professionals who must guide their professional conduct by guidelines defined by Law.

At the 17th Meeting of Documentation and Information Sciences and Technologies (CTDI), as in previous meetings, the aim is to encourage theoretical and practical reflection in a necessary and stimulating dialogue between academia and information professionals by sharing good practices and new perspectives for the area. This time, the focus is on the essential evaluation of information – both paper and digital – which contributes to quality information and the fulfilment of the information needs of internal and external users of Information Services.

This conference accepts the submission of articles (5-10 pages) that frame work and reflections on the theme presented. It is also possible to submit posters on this theme. See more information under submission.
